Hey. Guess what? We’ve got a newsletter. Yeah. Really. It’s been going out for years now. However, we don’t try to ram it down people’s throats. And guess what? We don’t even have a timeline on when it will be sent out. It never goes out more than once a month. And most times it only goes out 4 or 5 times a year. So, you’ve got enough e-mail as it is. Do you really want more? However, when it is only going to be sent to you probably 4 or 5 times in the next year, do you want to miss out on the offers we will send you? Sign up today and once you’ve done so, e-mail me at webmaster@thedipstop.com to let me know. For your support, I will send you a free 1 year subscription to Maxim magazine…(holy crap, did he just say he’d give me a free 1 year subscription to Maxim just for joining a stupid e-mail list that only sends about 5 e-mails a year???). Make sure you include your address!

Ok, Office Depot has this stupid thing to make a video using your photos to “Elf Yourself.” It is actually quite good. But they charge you $4.99 if you want to download and save the video. Check it out. http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/Iz7ANA9V5OYAuiaF

Ok, you knew it would happen. Someone made a game where you can throw shoes at G.W. Bush.
They’re obviously just trying to cash in on this since the website is already up for sale.

Life is not always easy (as most of us were taught). Life can throw you some difficult decisions and force you to do things you do not wish to do. But that is a part of life. Here are a few thought to take with you as all of us are faced with tough times:
#1 - Take care of yourself or you cannot do anything for anyone else.
#2 - Do what you can to help others. If you can help, help. If you cannot, then don’t let it stress you out. You can only do what you can do. Don’t put that dime of spare change in the jar if it will hurt your family. If you’re family will not be hurt, go ahead.
#3 - Place influence. Many people who have no resources to help others do in fact know someone who does. Subtly dropped hints to those people can inspire help that you wouldn’t have imagined possible. While you’ll receive no replies of gratitude from anyone, this is the type of help that can cause the greatest good. Because most of us aren’t rich, but have friends or friends of friends who have means and can do something to help people in need. Spreading the word of need to those who have can do much good.
#4 - Be careful. Don’t jump to “get rich quick” type promotions or jobs. Big hype ads are typically scams and in a normal market you wouldn’t even consider them. Leave them alone now as well. They will only enrich others and leave you hurting more than you are now. No matter how enticing they may be.
#5 - Don’t go Socialist! I know. The above speaks about helping others and blah, blah, blah. Socialistic crap. Helping others is not socialism unless it is the government taking from those who have and giving to the rest of us. So you people (I expect there’s no one with lots of cash reading this) go ahead and help your fellow man if you can. But when the government gets involved and starts taking from the rich to give to the poor, look to Russia to decide if that is the route you wish to take. I don’t want that and I suspect that if most of us think about it, we would choose not to go that route.
So to summarize, help out your fellow man where you can, but don’t knock yourself out trying to do so! If someone tries to help you out, TAKE it and accept their gift graciously. With thanks. Appreciate the people and the things they share with you.
And here’s a little gift I’ll leave for you. Ever visit Craigslist? If not, there is a free section there where people give away things and it is pretty much first come first serve. I’ve gotten plenty of free stuff there, including firewood, a love seat, sod, rock for my yard, and more. So check it out for your city. And if you’ve got something you don’t want or need, give it to someone who does.
Take care and I do hope for a better 2009 for all of us….

A&E GREENLIGHTS NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES
‘THE BEAST’ STARRING PATRICK SWAYZE & TRAVIS FIMMEL
NEW YORK, NY – June 9, 2008 – A&E Network has greenlit the network’s second original scripted drama series with “The Beast,” starring Patrick Swayze and Travis Fimmel, it was announced today by Bob DeBitetto, Executive Vice President & General Manager, A&E Network. “The Beast” will begin production on the 13-one hour episode order this summer in Chicago, and is tentatively slated to premiere in early 2009.
“We’re very excited to begin series production on ‘The Beast’ and even more thrilled to have Patrick on board reprising the role he played so powerfully in the pilot opposite Travis, who is certainly an emerging talent in his own right,” said DeBitetto. “In addition to exceptional lead characters, ‘The Beast’ is unique in its combination of emotional storytelling, compelling plotlines and action elements.”
“I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this muti-layered, unpredictable and downright entertaining, as well as a project this current and cutting edged,” said Swayze. “There are constant twists and turns, because we never know what this ‘Charles Barker’ is going to do next! Not only is the show driven by plot, but as important, it’s character driven. We have an incredibly talented team of writers and staff, Chicago is an amazing, untapped city. I can’t wait to get to work on this.”
In “The Beast,” an unorthodox but effective FBI veteran (Swayze) trains a new partner (Fimmel) in his hard-edged and psychologically clever style of agenting while himself being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team. The mischievous veteran hazes his new partner as they work undercover, brilliantly manipulating situations, constantly testing his new partner and pushing him to delve deeper into his “roles.” As he realizes he can no longer maintain normal relationships and still do his job, the rookie is confronted with yet another challenge: An FBI team trying to enlist him as a double-agent in the bureau’s investigation of his partner.
“The Beast” is executive produced by Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl for Scarlet Fire Films (“New Amsterdam”) and Cory Concoff (“Beltway”) for Fuel Filmworks. John Romano (“American Dreams,” “Third Watch”) will serve as the showrunner and executive producer. The pilot script was written by William Rotko (“Breach,” “Beltway”) and Vincent Angell (Stand By Love) who will also serve as co-executive producers. Michael Dinner (“The Wonder Years,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) directed the pilot. “The Beast” will be produced by Sony Pictures Television for A&E Network.
